Hi all, 'tis the season and Im studying for the MCAT; I have access to a lot of them (11 Kaplan and 3 AAMC). I only started studying the second week of January and Im scheduled for the MCAT in early May. I was thinking of starting FLs (once a week or bi-weekly) after studying for about 4-5 weeks as I'd actually have some content down by then. Think this is a good plan? How long did you study before taking your first and how many should/did you take?

That seems like a fine schedule but take the first one now. Either the first AAMC or Kaplan. You just want to have a baseline for yourself. Leave the last 2 AAMC ones to be the last 2 full length tests you take though. They'll be the most accurate representatives of your actual score and if you're not scoring on those tests how you want to perform then maybe think about pushing it back.

Only took 6 practice tests but I also only had like 7 weeks to prep for my mcat. Not recommended. Got away with it though haha

Take as many practice exams as possible! Seems like a good plan but the closer you are to test day (3-4 weeks away) I would definitely say that you should try to take 3 tests a week. I took a diagnostic as the first thing after a week of studying, then after a few more weeks took 1 more test, followed by intense content review and then took as many practice tests as I could fit in. The AAMC section tests are also good. Questions and simulating testing conditions are key!
