When to take the DAT

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
plan to take it one time and one time only. study for it the most you can and when you are ready that is the best time for your test. i would recommend at the latest B4 mid september. have your aadsas in b4 then tho

You should take it by the end of august no later. If you start studying now that's plenty of time. Since you're applying for this cycle, you pretty much have only one shot. So if I were you I'd start studying today.

mid september - isn't that too late?

to be considered for acceptance, you must have a DAT score on file

so taking the DAT's as late as mid september - you would not be 'applying early' anymore - even though you have submitted your AADSAS application

Any comments...

umm mid-september is not too late. for god sake people you early birds are driving me crazy! i took my DATs on August 19, I didn't turn in my application until September 13th, schools didn't recieve my application until october 30 or so. i applied to 12 schools on aadsas, i submitted 10 secondaries, and i got 9 interviews. --- so if submitted aadsas early, then taking the DAT by mid-september your application will get there mid-september as well, b/c they will process the application without dat and in result you will be applying earlier than me.
