When to take the MCAT?

I matriculate into med school on August 2011. I have just started college this fall, and I was wondering when I should take the MCAT? I need to achieve 8's on all three sections. How long would I need to prepare?

Thank You

How will you be matriculating into med school Aug. 2011 if you are just starting College this fall?

Why do you need to achieve 8s? You certainly need to do better than that to have a competitive application along with a good GPA and EC's, Research.

The MCAT Should be taken once all of your pre-reqs are complete( 1 year of the following: Bio, G.Chem, Physics, Ochem), 2-6 months before you actually turn in your AMCAS Application.

Getting all 8's would land you in a DO school unless you are a Texas resident who will likely get in to the state school with those scores.

i hav eheard that the janauary mcat is the most popular one because u get a second shot if the first suks

I am in a two year dual admissions program, and to matriculate we need to get a 24 (8 on each section) and maintain a 3.2 GPA. When should I take it, making sure that even if I don't achieve a 24 I can retake it a few times before matriculation date.

Thanks
