I am an economics major and hope to get into OD or MD school. Along with my major classes I took the science classes required to get into these schools. I was wondering if it is best to take the MCATs right after I finished all of my science classes or wait until I get my B.A.

Also do you guys think I have an edge with a non science major? Or if I dont have an edge is there a good chance if my GPA is almost perfect?

There are benefits to taking the MCAT soon after the classes since the content will be fresh in your mind. Do note, however, that the MCAT is a reasoning test, so you will still need to do some preparation (especially practice tests).

As to the non-science major: it certainly doesn't hurt your application & it makes you stand out among all of the biology & chem majors.
