How much does it matter when to take the OAT? Specifically, my plan is to take it after college, w/ my relevant coursework consisting of
  • Year 1: Gchem, calculus for life sciences.
  • Year 2: Ochem, intro bio
  • Year 3: Physics, 1 or 2 UD bio classes
  • Year 4: Biochemistry and a few more UD bio classes

If i give myself 2-3 months to study after finishing my fourth year, assuming I kick ass in the courses I take, will I be in good position to do well on the OAT? Or is it important to take it soon after finishing the 2nd year? (im already going into my third year)

Thanks!

I think most people take the OAT sometime after or during their third year. I took mine the summer after my third year.

I took mine over winter break of my third year. I studied for 2-3 weeks, and it worked out really well for me. If you have taken all your prereq courses and done well, it makes sense to take the OAT as soon as you finish them so you don't forget anything. That is just my opinion though!
