Hey everyone I had a quick question. I have two interviews but am still waiting to hear from three schools and I have been complete since early to mid September for those schools since sending in my supplemental, I have shadowed a DO (who did OMM on his patients and has taught at a do school for ten years), completed my MPH and started teaching elementary kids. Would it be appropriate to send a letter of intent and update them with these things or should I keep waiting and hope for the interview? Also, I shadowed the do for 8 hours.. Is this enough time to ask for a LOR?

Completion of masters: Worth telling them. Send a transcript.
Shadowing a DO: Worth mentioning, especially OMM.
Shadowing a DO for only 8 hours: Better get some more hours in before mentioning. Even 20 or so would be better.
DO writing a rec letter after only 8 hours: Up to the doc, but not a great idea. Again, more hours would be good. 20-30? Depends on how much of an impact you can make in that amount of time.

Also, you mean letter of interest/update letter. Letter of intent is if you are waitlisted after interviewing and it's essentially a promise that if accepted you will attend.

2 interviews though! Good work!

Yeah I mean update letter! Not letter of intent. Thanks for the advice! Ill look around online to get an idea of how to outline the letter. Should I jut email it to the admissions office? Or snail mail.

You could email them now. And then if you get a few more hours then send them a snail mail letter. Good luck!
