When to write letter of intent

Hi all-

I'm super nervous about my two top choice schools. My interviews weren't amazing and my stats arent either. I feel like I will just be put on the waitlist. Is it ok to write a letter of intent now esp to schools that are non-rolling?

most people like to write them post-waitlist but i think its ok to write it before especially if you can update them with more stuff if u get waitlisted...gl
