When will AMCAS run background checks on accepted applicants? I heard Jan 1st but it hasn't happened

Hey, so I have multiple acceptances, and I was wondering when AMCAS is planning to run background checks on accepted applicants. I heard january 1st, but haven't received an email. Any ideas? Thank you

I'm pretty close to the beginning of the alphabet and I haven't gotten anything, so it's probably not alphabetical. Maybe they go by the date of your first acceptance?

Interesting. That'd make sense. It's probably some mystery algorithm though like with secondaries at some schools, even though they say they send to all applicants. I can never figure out this sort of ****.

Literally no idea. I received word on one of my acceptances on Oct15, as a FYI.
Basically every school requests a CBC, yeah ? I wonder if mine just dgaf at the moment.

Haha well that debunks my theory. Oh well, as long as we get the email eventually...I'm just paranoid because I just cleared out my spam folder without looking at any of the emails, I hope I didn't delete it.

That sounds about right, randomness of acceptances and rejections goes along with when the process of background checks timing. The only thing that seems to make sense is when I got verified many, many moons ago. Seems like a lifetime ago when I submitted to this humbling process in June.

All that reminds me of is the horrendous "wait your turn to register for the mcat" crap, where the site would crash and burn or be down for another day and when I finally got to register every place in CA would be taken.

I called Certiphi about this today, since I've also lived in 10+ places. I was told that for educational checks like AAMC you don't actually have to list any old addresses unless you particularly want to. You may desire to call them and confirm but that's what I was told.

I rec'd my email today, and just processed it. Also started the FASFA. Joy of joy, need to do my taxes too. Parental units need nagging to do theirs too. But I must say, this is easier than the AMCAS Primary!!

The email they sent me didn't have a deadline. They just said something to the effect of immediate response is required, but no date.

Maybe its based on what schools you hold acceptances/waitlists from? The schools themselves are the ones who formally request the check, right?

Don't think so because people who got accepted to the school I was accepted to have gotten the email but I haven't.

Correct.

It's advisable to refrain from providing prior addresses that could yield local criminal documents that wouldn't show up on state or nationwide searchs.

I got it yesterday and had my completed report by the end of the day.

It seems like they are sending them in waves based on some unknown factor

I got mine earlier today. Seems like they're sending them out in batches, probably so all the premeds don't end up crashing their servers or something.

Was accepted in mid October. Got my email yesterday. But actually completing the check will probably take longer for me since I grew up internationally.
