so we're finally into 2004 and some of us have been accepted, some haven't, and and have multiple acceptances. my question is when do people think the really big movement will occur? i know the two big dates are march and may 15, but from past experience or an educated guess, when will lots of movement begin and run through? i'm talking about the trickle down effects and whatnot.

I think the biggest movement will occur after May 15th which is when everyone has to decide what school they want to go to.

sorry, this may be lame, but what do you mean by "movement"? like people who have been put "on hold" post-interview (2 schools for me)? or waitlists? or for interviews?

I assume that is what is being asked here. And I would say a few days after May 15th the big push will happen, but after that things usually get stalled and go at a crawl if they move at all. Your chances, after the big movement around May15th is over, are seriously decressed.

...you take a laxative.

this is mainly what i'm talking about, the being on hold at schools. i just want some decisions, one way or the other, to start coming in. in some of the bigger cities, it's prudent to get a jump on housing.

The waiting is one of the worst things during this whole process. Your right about housing and other things needing to be adressed as early as possible.

Waiting stinks. Hang in there🙂

On a side note, what are you backup plans if you don't get in to med school? If you don't find out for sure so late, it seems like it's hard to plan on what to do if you don't get in.
