I find D-list reality TV stars generally have the best ethical compass and standards.

You might have some trouble selling them, actually. We casted our own gold crowns last year and most of us were left with some spare pieces of unused gold. My classmates couldn't get any pawn shop to purchase "dental gold" since it was really only about 48% gold.

You wouldn't sell it to a pawn shop; there are specialized businesses who always buy dental gold (and not just all gold crowns, but even the gold from pfms). They are able to sterilize and filter it out and use it. I'm pretty sure they have to follow OSHA, so there is no way a pawnshop can take it.

Most patients, even when presented with the option of keeping a gold crown, usually decline.
