when's the best time to take vacation during PGY-1?

My program allows me to take 4 weeks vacation in a single block. which month is the best time to take vacation during pediatric internship?any suggestions? what factors would you consider?

Why don't you split it into two two week blocks you should ask this in advance. Its actually better this way and some programs do allow it. If you split it then if you have to do something such as night float for two weeks (which is most places is a horrible experience) you have vacation immediately after to look foward to.

My program does not allow us to split the vacation into 2 blocks during the first year. We can do that only from second year. 😎

then I'd say ask for it in february or march or april so that when u come back u have a little bit of internship left haha.

Take your vacation in a month that definitely has 5 weekends and/or 31 days. Get the most outta that thing!!!
