hey folks,
i turned in my ERAS about 10 days ago and i still havn't gotten interviews (except at my elective rotation sights). how long does it usually take to hear back from programs. i've applied to 27 thus far...

thanx

Your application was submitted a little bit late so you have to expect that you'll probably hear from programs later than other medical students.

I'm a foreign grad and I applied early but have gotten only one interview. I just sent out my dean's letter yesterday so I'm hoping that more will come once the programs get that dean's letter. Do most PM&R programs wait until they get a dean's letter with FMG's before sending out interview invites? Any FMGs that have matched that could shed some light on the process? I also only applied to 22 programs, should I apply to a lot more even though it is a little late? Thanks

I just got the last of my LORs in last week and I finally got a couple more interviews. I think many programs are waiting to get everything - all the LORs and Dean's Letters. I have 7 interviews so far in PM&R, 2 for my transitional year(Which is worrying me)

Hope this helps - I would check the ADTS section in my ERAS to see if all your documents are complete

Thanks for your response. Actually there has been a flury of activity in the past week. I've gotten 6 more interviews which makes it a total of 7 now. However we are exactly in the same boat as far as the Trans year is concerned. I've gotten only 2 Trans year interviews as well! Can just two interviews be enough I wonder? I might break down and apply to some preliminary medicine spots. Have you thought about scrambling into a Trans year? I wonder if it will be relatively easy to do so, what do you think?

Cheers

last year, my interview invites started coming in october and kept coming through mid-january. as far as TY invites go, i'd apply for prelim med spots as well. you don't want to have to scramble, it's VERY stressful. though even after scrambling for a TY, i received a few calls through mid june from programs that still hadn't filled. moral = don't leave anything to chance!
