Most journals require significant fees.
It's just part of it.
And then there's the predatory ones that require higher fees, but have lower bars of "science".
I've never been charged to submit to Annals, JEM, American JEM, and Academic EM. As an author, you should never have to pay to publish your work unless the fees are getting covered by a grant.
Thanks for the reply!
I'm an IMG trying to publish some case reports in specific EM journals (cases not obscure enough for annals and got rejected by JEM).
have no departmental backing or any guide who will pay the fees for me.
Wondering what are my options other than Cureus or something like that.
Most of the EM journals I find seem to have APC.
I can't afford to pay 750-1500$ just for a case report.
