i torrented off a huge set of Kaplan practice materials and I'm going through them nowadays. I feel like the practice material is ridiculously hard because the passages seem to discuss things that just blow my freaking mind.
But then again, this is a biased view since I may just not have studied enough. And I haven't tried the AAMC practice tests yet, so I'm not too sure if it would be accurate.
But I like that the Kaplan practice materials hit you a barrage of different things everytime. It makes me feel like that I'm getting exposed to every possible set of questions out there...
I mean, how many different ways can you come up with a question about centripetal motion or capacitors or cell embryology??? The science passages is just another task of memorizing every possible fact out there and being exposed to every possible type of problem to maximize your knowledge.
But VR is always up in the air... because who knows what they'll make you read. Maybe about miming? About dirty belgian hookers (i've actually read a passage about one)? Maybe even about how to clip your nose hair!
Final line: there's no limit to what they can test you on the VR, but there IS a limit to science. You just have to work your face off to exceed it then you can pretty much guarantee yourself high scores on the PS and BS.
And who cares about essays? I feel like every single time I practice writing an essay about one of the essay topics on the AAMC website that my mark would be all up in the air. It really just depends on who's reading it and how they feel at the time. And WHAT'S up with this "computer" grading my essays? How can a computer grade an essay? Besides being able to detect obvious spelling errors and grammar mistakes, I don't understand how AAMC can justify that a computer marks an essay.
Just my $2. My thoughts are worth 100x that of others.
