Where did all of the OG pharmacy members go?

They mostly got banned and/or moved to reddit
 
Slowly phased into early retirement, other industries (real estate), more passive lifestyles?
Retail/community is definitely on the decline (definitely a transition state with class sizes on the decline) & seems like more of the OGs have moved into more niche, remote roles

Covid burnout has definitely been an inspiration for many of us to obsess less over work and enjoy life more
 
I log on every month or so- just not much discussion- I also never really like Reddit in regards to interactions - just gets lost in the mess
 
Don't think of myself as an OG - more like second wave.

Agree that the pandemic led to a priority shift; that plus a return to industry after 10+ years in academia led these threads (the 'student' part of SDN) to be less relevant to me. I still check in once a week.

I'll get a new thread started for ol' times sake.

I'm part of the original generation, and most of that group has found better things now. I was here before the Pharmacy forum was built, and most of the very old ones use this as a private discussion board. I do miss some members though, but I mostly use the Board for those private discussions even now.
 
I"ve been on her a long time but only check in intermittently. Since 2009, I used this board to find my first roommate at pharmacy school! I have a few different profiles because I always forget my login!

Curious, what's the name of the reddit pharmacy platform? Or what the kids call it, subreddit?

I did most of my posting in 2004-2008 when pharmacy admission was very competitive and when we didn't have a 'like button'. It wasn't unusual for applications to apply 2-3 years before they get one admission offer and a lot of students went out of state. It was great resource to learn about the application process and the interview process. I think I also learned the process to being a pharmacy technician and get volunteering experience from this forum.

This board was once filled with colorful posters. I even recall one of the founding assistant dean of Chapman, Lawrence Brown, came here to defend the need for more pharmacy school due to emerging shortage of MTM pharmacists that will be the future of pharmacy profession. Unfortunately, i believe he erased the vast majority of his posts.

I think there was someone from Larkin who came to post on this forum too. These posts aged well if they’re still there
 
I'm not an OG, but I stopped participating in large part because I couldn't so much as sneeze without gynny or whatever that admin's name was trying to chastise me
 
Also certainly not OG. Retired and just don't care about pharmacy anymore.

I was here when this wasn't a money making scheme with Reddit type censors. I was here when this wasn't even a forum. It was merely a posting site for medical school interview experiences.
It was amazing, totally kid-driven. That's why it ballooned. Around 2008, the censoring started and a slow decline took place.
 
I haven't been in here for awhile. I just cheked and I have been a member over 20 years. Good lord where does the time go? I was a new grad not even licensed pharmacist when I first joined....
