Where did I go wrong?

MS1 here. I've heard conflicting things about importance of class rank (my school has a letter grade system, so it seems like everyone's trying to be top dog)

Had 4 exams now (exam every monday) and the averages are all around 85-90%. Luckily I've been scoring well (95%+s) but I study like crazy for that grade. I don't mind putting in the work if it's worth it but I don't want to feel like there's an impending doom if I don't get an A. All through undergrad I was a B-C student cuz I didn't give a shiet and I could pass classes without studying hard. Now I'm trying to be the opposite :\

Does it matter if I'm a D.O. student?

I think it may at AZCOM. Aren't the good clerkships reserved for the higher ranked students? I feel for you, I'm at UofA-Phoenix and we are P/F unranked. Therefore I spend more of my time studying for step one and doing research than studying for our block exams.

However, we are at a disadvantage in that we do not have ranks or AOA and a lot of residency directors don't like that (something we have to overcome in other areas).

Keep up the hard work!

Thats true. I totally forgot about the clerkships reserved for top students.
