Where did you study for the DAT? (school, home, bookstore, etc)

Home is the worst because there are just too many distractions... I am much better at the public library (I love the noise because the headphones at the Prometric center don't work very well). I love coffee shops too, especially with the free wifi 🙂

I studied solely at home. I get too distracted at public libraries and coffee shops because I end up people watching or getting distracted by one thing or another. 😛

I studies in my school's library. it distracts sometimes, but it helped me to ignore distractions when i was taking a real DAT next to a student who was typing like crazy.

As you can see, people are different. Some are distracted at home, others are distracted when they're not at home.

Personally, I can't work at home at all. I guess I feel too comfortable and don't get down to business. I like the coffee shop because for some reason I feel like people might be watching and I would be slacking off if I don't work. I know it's crazy... no body cares what I am doing there! It works though.

I agree! I study at Starbucks, BORDERS, Panera or Barnes and Noble. I like the sound of coffee maker and the fact that im not studying alone, people are doing their work, too. I tend to feel lonely at home and end up hitting the bed. lol. You might meet people who are on the same boat, too. I met a chemistry teacher, a physics teacher, art teacher or even a dental student and they gave me some tips ( okay i might have gotten distracted here a little ) but I still do more work outside of home.

Good luck!

At home, all day, nearly every day. It helped that the house was empty except for me most daylight hours.

saame for me. it just got really boring towards the end. try working out at least an hour a day, cuz sitting down for 8 hours a day will show up in your belly at the end.

i tried the library, but it was just a hassle if i got hungry or tired.

daytime at home in my room and nighttime at a 24 hr starbucks

home…or i go to the library and wait in the parking lot until it opens in the morning so i can get a quiet study room to myself.
i guess it depends on my mood…sometimes when i've studied too much at home, i start slacking off and getting distracted easily (like right now…)
=(

Mostly at home. Can't study on my bed or on the couch, otherwise I get sleepy and fall asleep. I did most of my studying at my breakfast table at home, so if I got hungry or thirsty.. the fridge was just a walk away. Plus studying next to the windows helps keep me awake b/c of the sunlight = )

Nowhere is safe. A couple times my father caught me snoring in my chair, head propped up with my arm 😛

nearby coffee shop or university library during the day, reviewed stuff at home at night. Spent few hours before going to bed writing orgo rxns on bathroom mirror w/ dry-erase pen, did practice exams at public library (to simulate Prometric environ).
