why might my being vietnamese hurt me? i actually heard from others that Asians as a whole are not considered minorities any more, but Vietnamese people are... the reason I included the fact that I am Vietnamese is because I wanted to know the validity of this rumor... i guess according to you, Haybrant, it might be wrong... just wondering, where did you hear that it might hurt me from?

Being Vietnamese won't hurt you. You should be proud of your heritage. These guys might have set you back about 10 years though:

Dude, you will be fine. I just think you need to be a little more confident and relax a bit. Too stressed.

Just make sure that when you post your stats, you are doing it for the right reason and not to get pats on the back.. this aint the place to do it.

my stats were a little better than yours and I was accepted at 11 schools. You should get accepted to at least 3.

haha put the time out to read all my posts about you as i can see... i apologize for being a person who can defend themselves when someone else attacks them... i'm sure you're used to people like me... i'm sure most of the time you just go on making fun of their requests for advice/help while they just try to ignore you... it's ok to get frustrated when you don't get your way anymore... totally understandable... oh and thanks for callin my stats "stellar"... we'll see if i blow it or not sometime next year...

OK SO THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. drjonsez asks whether he is competitive enough to get into a school. This looks like someone looking for ego stroking. However, as everyone knows, some incredibly high stats dont get in every year, from 30's all the way to 36's and lots of 4.0's and drjon is worried. He is ridiculed b/c of the dumb question, either outright or through the use of well placed sarcasm however everyone believes he will get in somewhere.
Drjon replies to the sarcastic posts and is pissed off b/c he wasnt intending to ask about whether he could get into medschool, but whether he could get into ONE particularly competitive med school, UCLA, which he did not state before, which changes the reasoning behind the question quite a bit. He has a right to be pissed off at the sarcasm though I think you drjonsez would have been better off saying "my bad, what i wanted to know was about UCLA" and that would be the end of it.

It was definitely entertaining though.
