in theory, you can pratice anywhere do anything, however in reality the answer is no. i don't know about private practice but after staying with a DO who is on his first year of internship told me that, he apply to 70 places for match but only got 7. You may not get what you want, even if it were your first choice. Luckly he got in his first choice going for rad. Some schools turned him down b/ they told him that they do not trust DO's education. it is just something to keep in mind

There is actually a DO in the new "I think" Stacker 2 commercial, lol

The one vacancy unfilled by DOs currently is plastic surgeon with a feature on the E! channel. Just something to aim for.

Yeah sheeeezzz your friend got it tough... all those applications and still matching in Rad. Difficult days hey... 🙄

Most medical students apply for many residencies... that way at least you get a better chance of matching in the right place. Of course there are always exceptions to those who have great scores.

Chill. I'm sure that when you send out 100 applications to your dream specialty, and sweat bullets for many months with only 5 interviews while your MD friends have 10 times as many you'll rethink your eye-rolling sarcasm.

Although on the plus side, its beats the hell out of having tons of interviews but not matching.
