How big of a town or city do you want to practice in?

Born in Terre Haute, Indiana (60,000 people), grew up in Bridgeton, Indiana (125 people), hoping to practice anywhere but Indiana, but in a town about the size of Terre Haute and live in a town about the size of Bridgeton.

Raised in Houston, will practice in Houston.

Nice choice.

Houston has to be one of the best cities to eat in anywhere in the world. Right up there with Memphis (BBQ), New Orleans (cajun food), Cincinnati (chili- although the contest was unfair because they didn't invite the Mexicans 😉 ), etc.

Also explains why it's got two of the best cardiac surgery programs in the world. LOL

Born and raised: Tehran,Iran (11 Million population)
Undergrad: Amherst, MA (6000 population + 40,000 students)
grad school: St. Louis, MO (350,000)
practice: NYC and/or Florida

There are 11 million people in Tehran? :-O Wow. I learned something new. I knew it was a big city, but I didn't know it was that big.

Phoenix is a good place. I used to live a couple hours south of there in Marana. I really like Arizona, but I don't know if I could deal with that much sunshine everyday for the rest of my life.

I would like to stick around here in NYC as long as possible, but the trouble is that job outlook is better the smaller the city (according to Burough of Labor). Maybe Ill move back to Phoenix one day, but that is still a huge city.

You couldn't pay me enough to live in New York state, let alone NYC.

Right now it seems like I will practice in Las Vegas, a good place for dentists. After 4 years I might change my mind. I'm very looking forward to visiting some more cities and then do my homework of comparision.
