I live in VA.
I believe that VCU is the only dental school in my state.
I heard that Dental School Accepts 99% of in-state students for some reason.
That makes me think like if i don't get accepted in VCU, there is no way I can go to the dental schools in the other states.
Just in case that the info I have is wrong, and it doesn't matter wherever the school is located, then what are some easy dental schools that I can get accepted? I don't know if the harvard is the best school, but my primary goal now is to get accepted whether it's good or bad (good is better~ duh~).
I believe many people have the same goal as I do.
I also heard that there are some schools that accepts low GPA or low DAT scores. Some school don't even try interviews and accept students. Are there any list that shows their acceptence history, or any schools that You guys know well about these information?

that's why i want u to answer me if u know.

It is true that state schools gives priority to in-state students, however if you have relatives who went to that dental school, it will definitely improve your chances of acceptance. As for schools accepting people without interviews, I think that is a false rumor. My sister was a great candidate to many dental schools witha 21 DAT and a 3.7 gpa, but all of them required an interview.
By the way, from your previous posts, you stated that you were a freshman looking for information about dental schools? If you are a freshman, congratz and I commend you for your strong desire to be dentist. Just be sure to get those recommendations done early too, and have the predental commitee save it in your file. The DAT isn't a hard test, but it isn't easy. So, just worry about it the year before you apply and study for about 3 months 4 hours a day. That would grant you a 20+ score.

first of all, thanks for congrat me. I appreciate that.
But is it possible for me to get recommandations done early like right now before i even start the 2nd year? I have my chemistry teacher retiring very soon and i want her recommandations. When i apply for dental schools and dat test, should i go to aadsas website to do all these from the begining to the end? I really don't know anything so teach me like teaching a crying baby plz.

it's more like 10%, check http://dentalstats.tripod.com/03-04.htm to see what schools accept what % of out of staters. Except for Texas schools, apparently they're very difficult to get in for outsiders. Also, private schools obviously give no preference to in-staters

your primary goal is to not worry about this since you can't aply for a while, but to do well in your classes. Harvard is not the best school, the school that you ultimately choose to go to is the best school. All dental schools are great schools. All dental schools have some qualities/characteristics that makes you go "DOH!". get it through to your head that Dental schools are not ranked for a reason.

different schools have different cut offs, and different schools have different average incoming GPA/DAT scores.

Schools DO accept students without interviews, this is not a rumor, but only due to special circumstances. I was accepted to a place without interviewing, my situation being professionally and personally chummy with a board of trustees member / faculty. There are other people, on SDN or otherwise who were accepted without interviews, but all had their own special circumstances. For all intents and purposes the process goes: paper apps -> interview -> decision

you know, there are lots of people who make it through the whole process without being spoonfed all the pertinent information.

here's an idea, go google AADSAS, go to their website, adn lo and behold! *gasp! They have directions!! OH MY GOD!!

or how about this? go google DAT, go to their website, and HOLY CRAP! AGAIN!?!? DIRECTIONS?!?! Oh the mercy!!

Dare I try to make it a hat trick and go to the website of the school that you want to go to, and JIMMINY Crap! More directions and guidelines!!

friggign crying babies... how old are you? I throw crying babies in the river...

I got my recommendations two years before I applied. Prehealth commitee saved them for me. But, I still only had two because those were the professors who trully knew me. So, I am just warning you now, because I heard most require three. Fortunately the school I really want to go to, Univ. of Maryland, only requires 2 recommendations.

no, MOST schools require 2. A handful requires 3.

You said your pre-health commitee saved them for you. so...is that commitee in your 4 year institution or aadsas or dental school or where? I mean...if i ask my professor to write a recommandation for me 3 years before I go to dental school, where should I tell her to send?

Some undergrad colleges have a pre-health committee. They will help you keep the LORs. So once your professor wrote you a letter, ask him/her to send to the committee & they'll keep it for you. When it's the time for you to apply, they'll send them to the schools you requested. Hope this helps....

If I tell my chemistry teacher to write a recommandation letter for me and send it to pre-health commitee, do they open it, and put it in a new envelope since they need to send it to the different address? and do I need to go and talk to pre-health commitee to send at specific time and place? and do they need to send it directly to the schools that i want to apply or addsas? and if I apply to more than 2 schools, do i need more than 2 copies of that recommandations?

I think he thinks that taking classes for his GED and "college" are the same thing. Somebody needs some enlightenment.

Just ask for a recommendation, they will send it to the pre-health commitee. I go to a 4-year institution, so the professors that I asked for a recommendation did everything for me. Hope this helps.

Buy the ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools from their website. It has a lot of good information that would help you.
