Im a tx resident, any thoughts about where to apply besides in state schools that would be conducive to out of state applicants?
any ideas would be very helpful!

Well, do you want to go out of state? When I first started applying, I thought I did because I went out of state for undergrad. If so, then apply to schools with stats around yours, plus maybe a reach or two. If you want to stay in Texas, don't bother with out of state. I was actually surprised how few people do once I started interviewing. And not to piss people off here, but getting into a good TX school is easier then those other schools. So don't waste the time and money for schools out of state. If you have anymore questions, pm me.

Very true indeed. TX schools are very easy to get into if you are in state. Odds are if you can't get in TX, you might as well head for the Caribbean because AMCAS schools are way way harder to get into.

Only apply out of state if you have a genuine interest in some of those schools (which I was, so I forked out the cash).

The only other case where I would recommend applying out of state is if you are a superstar on paper, and the lower-tier TX schools will reject (or even worse, not even interview you) because they think you won't go there anyway (which did happen to some people this cycle, mainly by San Antonio in particular)

well, to be fair, I wouldn't say VERY easy, but they are easier. but, there is a reason people move here to establish residency.
