I talked to LECOM the other day and they told me that last year they had 2100 applications for 120 seats. That's not too good if you plan on applying there. Does anyone know of any schools that are accredited and have fewer applicants? With 2100 applications, they might be able to find 120 people with a 4.0 GPA.

Any school that uses Pharm CAS will have that many applicants. Look into schools that don't use pharm cas and require multiple steps to their application processes.

Pharmacy is the very hot occupation right now... everyone wants in... 4 years ago... there were probably 3 applicants for every spot now there is at least 10 applicants for every spot. 😱

The key is to apply early. That is what I'm planning on doing. I need to have my application in as soon as possible.

Just to give you hope, my friend got in for 2005 with a 3.3 GPA

Stay focused and apply to all programs in state.

It will give you the most realistic chance of getting in and save you money on tuition too.

Where did your friend get in? Did the school your friend got into require the PCAT? I haven't taken that. I wonder if there's much anatomy & physiology on it. That's what I've been studying all summer so that would be pretty nice if there was.

each school will be looking for different things... in fact each interviewer will be looking for different things.

currently just GPA and PCAT are not enough.. it was correct to say that probably 120 people applying have a 4.0. i would honestly say that some of the interviewers have stopped looking for 4.0 and are looking at the well roundedness of the individuals. after all... you have to have more than just grades to be a pharmacist.

but yeah.. everywhere with pharmcas will have increased appliants
