I am having a hard time figuring out where to apply and am looking for suggestions. I have a 3.4, will be taking the PCAT in July (i expect somewhere in the 80s, based on practice tests) , have very solid extracurriculars and have been working for walgreens for 6 months now. I got to school in MN and have residency in TN for the time being. I am willing to go anywhere in the country, but would like to be in or close to a city with at least a major airport. I haven't decided what I want to do for sure yet, but would like a school that focuses on areas other than retail. The only place I know I'm applying for sure in the university of minnesota. Where should I apply? How many schools should I apply to? Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you mean international airports?

Look at the pre-reqs you have done and then consider the ones you can do next year. Then see which schools require the courses you've already taken. I'd start there and then narrow down the choices based on what the schools have to offer, where they are located, and how much it would cost to you.

Apply to more than one just to be safe, so that you can have some plans if you don't get your first choice.

Just a heads up; it can be really tough to get MN state residency unless you take a year off school to work, and once you start grad school there, it's next to impossible to change residencies, from what I understand. There are some scholarships offered to offset the cost of in-state and out-of-state, but be aware you might be paying the out-of-state rate the full time you're in pharm school if you don't get residency before starting...

Yes that's what I meant. It has more to do with the size of city that would warrant an international airport than the airport...lol. I have or will have completed almost every possible pre-req. I have found I don't get a good feel for a program from the websites. I have like 14 schools on my list- and am having trouble with the narrowing down part. There isn't a lot of information out there (rankings, stats, ect aren't easy to find- especially accurate and up to date info). So I really am looking for ideas of specific schools.. but that might be too tall an order.

I understand I likely won't get in-state tuition in MN, but I'll find a way to make it work. I am fortunate enough not to have undergrad debt and have been saving up money since I was 10 for something like this. I fully expect to incur debt in pharmacy school. It's possible my mom and dad will move up here, so I might be able to get residency if that happens.

I've got three for you- all three have international airports and pharmacy schools!

Bangor, Maine: http://www.flybangor.com/

Missoula, Montana: http://www.flymissoula.com/

Fargo, North Dakota: http://www.fargoairport.com/

You might want to rethink your criteria...I don't think these were the booming metropolises you were looking for. Beware: I believe that every state except for Delaware has something that is called an international airport.

Wayne Sate in detroit.

It's a good school, focuses on hospital and clinical Pharmacy, more clinical. Great system for residencies, and you work along side the MD kiddies.

If you like Detroit...
