Hello I am new to this thread but long timer lurker. I am currently transitioning from my D1 to D2 year with an interest in oral surgery. I plan to take the CBSE in Spring of 2019 and the Fall of 2019 (if I have to retake). I honestly do not know where to begin. I hope to study throughout my D2 year. I bought the USMLE Step 1 2018 book but that is all I have currently.

I would say my school is more clinically focused so the basic sciences are not as comprehensive as they could be. No residency programs here either.

I am currently top 10% of my class and will continue to strive for good grades. However I do feel spend most of my time studying for my courses and wonder how can I make time for CBSE studying without jeopardizing my class rank. I feel as though I need to spend a lot more time studying than the average person to get my good grades.

What other study materials should I use?
Is there a good study schedule people use? I used one for the DAT that laid out what days I would study what subjects using which materials and that worked well for me.
Tips on balancing school with CBSE studying?
How do I not compromise good grades for CBSE studying?

I was thinking of trying to parallel my science courses with CBSE and just go into more depth.

Any tips and advice appreciated. Thank you

The Central Board of Secondary Education is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by Union Government of India. CBSE has asked all schools affiliated to follow only NCERT curriculum

There is another CBSE, called the Comprehensive Basic Science Examination. This thread is in reference to that exam.

But if the OP wants to teach later in India, will they have to take the other CBSE? Is this other CBSE also recognized in neighboring countries like Pakistan? Do you know if they have a reciprocity agreement? Thanks.
