To all the practicing OD's out there:
Any recommendations on the best and most affordable places/website(s) to purchase supplies for a new optometric office? I am needing to purchase fluress, tropicamide, Rx slips, patient intake forms, patient folders, alcohol wipes, etc, etc...

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

iPromotions is what we used for almost everything except for straight office supplies (printer paper/toner, pens, etc). Though I don't know if they do Rx Pads, they do basically everything else exam, glasses, and contacts related.

As far as Rx slips, and patient intake forms, create your own and have a local printer print them up.

Regarding eye drops and such, to get yourself started, just steal from whatever practice you're working at currently. 😱😀😛

That's what I was wondering....Is it legal to just make your own Rx slips? Then can't anyone off the street do this and prescribe themselves narcotics and controlled substances?? I thought in order for it to be legit, you had to purchase it from a supplier?...

Prescription pads are technically supposed to be tamper proof which means that they should have some sort of watermark in/on them which any printer can easily do.

In actual practice though, most pharmacists don't really give a crap if the Rx is for anything other than narcotics which optometrists rarely have to write for anyways.

I get a lot of things from http://www.eyesupplyusa.com/
Their prices are competitive for most things, and I have found their customer service to be quite good.
