Where to get a mortgage for residency?

Hi,
So, I checked with Bank of America (see other thread) and they do not have a branch in Connecticut (where I'll be moving to) and don't offer this specialty loan where they do not have a branch. What other places offer mortgages to future residents who'll be making $40k, own over $100k in undergrad and med loans, and has about 5% to put down? Anybody been there/done that?

what type of loan would be best for someone who is only going to be in the house during their residency? 3, 5, 7 yr ARMs, balloons, FHA, other? any advice/experiences would be greatly appreciated.
