Where to get research experience if you are already graduated from uni?

Where else can one acquire research experience if one has already graduated from the university. It seems that all the departments at my former uni favor current students or student who are in their department. Any suggestions?

usually that requires past research experience though. if the OP is a nontrad and didn't major in a science while at uni and doesn't know basic lab protocols a lab would be unlikely to hire someone with no previous experience.

Network. Job fairs, go to the uni for pre-med meetings, etc.

apply for an internship first, especially if you have no experience.
