I don't know how many of you are on this forum, but I have a question for you all. As of 2 Saturday's ago, I got my phone call from the Dean about my acceptance to Purdue come this fall (WOOHOO!😀). Now I'm starting to think about getting out there, and most importantly where to live.

What do you guys recommend as far as my 'living options'. An apartment off campus? In the on-campus graduate housing? Where are the 'good places' to live vs. the 'not-so-good places'? Opinions about living with other DVM students? etc..

Any advice from you guys would be great!

I've lived at Purdue for 4 years now, both on and off campus. In my experience, I love living off campus when I was at school from 8-7pm everyday because getting away from campus to the quiet, more north side of campus was nice. Living on campus is a little crazy, and expensive. I don't know if you want to live with other students, but I will be living with another girl who will be a first year and one of my former roommates in a townhouse off campus. The landlord told me that the area where I am looking at a townhouse has about 6 other vet students who live on the same street. Granted it is a 10 min drive, it's pretty quiet out there.

A one bedroom apt that is decent around here starts around $500+ and usually averages around $600 or more. There are apts/houses near the vet school but I'm not sure on how much rent in the house would be. I think it's personal preference.

www.boilerapartments.com has some places to check out. As far as management goes, I've had some issues with some places so send me a message if you want, or want to know anything else!
