The three major areas that people live are: Manayunk, Roxborough, and Center City.

All are great places to live, but will depend on what you are looking for in terms of lifestyle. Manayunk and Roxborough are outside of the city, and are about a 20 minute commute to school by car. You will have to purchase a parking decal for the school and carpool in most likely. A car is a must in these areas outside the city. Manayunk and Rox are partial to professionals and students in professional school - lots to do, many bars, shops, ect. You will save on rent compared to Center City, but the expense of a car, gas, insurance, and parking decal will add up. A good portion of dental students live there too, so you will be around fellow students.

Center City is the other area that people tend to live. It is right in downtown Philly, and there are some really nice areas off of Broad like Rittenhouse, Avenue of the Arts, washington square, logan square, art museum, and old city. You don't need a car because everything you need is in the city usually accesable by walking or the subway/train/bus. There is obviously a ton to do in center city - and a lot of action. To get to school, just take a 10 minute ride on the North Broad line subway. Hope that helps!
