where to live if I go to columbia???

My husband has a job offer from long island city. where can we live so that my and his commute will not be awful every morning?
any place you can recommend in bronx? our budget is pretty tight! thanks!

I think Columbia offers housing arrangements for couples in apartment styled complexes. I think they are ~$700 per month? I think that's per person? Not sure, but that's still relatively cheap for housing in Manhattan. Commute shouldn't be too bad taking the subway. From Washington Heights to Long Island City will take less than an hour by Subway with one transfer stop, so it's quite convenient.
