Hey guys,

I am from Texas and the only time I've been to Atlanta was for my interview at Mercer. Anyways, I'm in desperate need of advice on nice and SAFE apartments to live in that are close to campus since I will not be living in an oncampus dorm. Seems like everything I read on Apartment ratings online says that almost all complexes are extremely unsafe, infested with roaches, or that management sucks! I'm going in April to look for a place, any advice will help 🙂 ! Thanks!

Hey Im going there to. I heard that the ON CAMPUS apartments are pretty nice. The best thing is that they re right there cause anywhere further than that is hard because of ATL TRAFFIC.

Didn't you get a form from Mercer about housing? If you didn't, then call the Admissions Office. They can help you find apartments on & off campus. They can even find you a roommate if you need one.

there are apartments on the same road as the school

In everything you do, DON'T live far from campus, ATL TRAFFIC SUCKS...trust me ....look for a place where you don;t need to get on the highways (75 and 285). Good luck,

I experienced a little bit of the traffic going to the airport after my interview almost MISSED my flight but I didn't realize it was like that all the time I just heard it was awful. Anyways thanks for all the info, I haven't recieved anything from the Admissions office as far as on-campus housing so I'll have to call them up. But I appreciate everyone's feedback!! It's just so hard when your from out-of-state to know what to do. I guess that's what Spring Orientation is for!! 😀

Hey Guys,

I went around lookin at some of the apartments nearby when I was home for winter break (My family leaves about 2 hrs from Atl). To me the places with the greatest value were the ones that are basically adjacent to campus. Regency Square and Park Pointe North. I decided to live in Regency Square. There are a few others that I visited, some were nicer, but more expensive and further away. Basically in my eyes the fact that those two are within walking distance to campus was a huge deal. If you guys have any more questions, specific details of those places or the others I visited, let me know. I even made a spreadsheet comparing the costs and benefits of the places I visited, ha!

Good luck, and see you guys in August.

Yes, take it from someone who's lived in Atlanta for awhile - it's pretty much always like that! And every once in awhile, you'll have something like the nitwit who flipped his truck on I-85 N while he was running from the police earlier this week - the resulting accident backed up I-85 for 10 miles 😱
