Hi crazychica, I can give you some pointers on Richmond (I'm a 4th year). You can PM me if you'd like, I'll try to answer questions although I'm not the best at replying sometimes. Some would say Short Pump is a nice area, if you're into suburbia, maintenence-free landscaping, overpriced shopping, soccer moms, and traffic. It's also a crappy commute to school. (I did that for a year) If you're into night life, student orgs, hanging out, then Short Pump is less than ideal.
Richmond can be a hard place to adjust to, so I suggest living closer to campus to make friends and do student activites. You just need a little street sense to stay safe.
VCU usually sends out a list of fellow pharmacy students looking for housing arrangements. You should look out for that or call the Dean's office about it.
also, My boyfriend might be renting out my room in our 2/2 for a year if I move after graduation. But I can't say I'd want him living with a "crazychica" hehe. But I live out in suburbia which I wouldn't suggest for a new student.
