Where to Retake Classes?

Hey guys,

Yes, I used the search function.
I would like to retake a few classes as they're killing my sGPA for DO school. My present sGPA is a 3.1 hopefully a 3.2 by the end of this quarter. I would like to retake a couple of upper div bio classes Ecology and Conservation Biology and Insect Ecology.
These two classes (C-'s in both) are totally destroying my GPA, and my advisor has stated that I can't retake classes unless i get an F or a D in them.
The rest of my upper division Bio classes are all A's and B's.

I live in the LA area, halfway between LA and Riverside. I'm not sure where I would be able to retake these classes, if any classes. I was also planning on retaking physics 2b (C+) and Bio 5b (C).

Anyone know where I could retake these classes as an informal post-bacc student this late in the school year?

I had an acquaintance who took bio at cal poly pomona to get out of a pre req. He said it was cheap. I bet they have all of those other classes.

When your advisor says you can't retake those classes because your grade isn't lower, does he mean that you can't retake the classes to improve your UG's GPA or does he mean you literally can't retake the class because you won't be able to enroll in it?

Advisor says I can't take it at all without dean's approval. I petitioned to attempt to retake the class but was denied with the comment, "the grade you earned is the grade you earned" lol. Talk about unforgiving. I even explained to him that DO schools replace grades, and even if it doesnt change anything on my transcript it will help me later. No go though. Advisor says I can't even retake through extension center because the request goes through the school and the Dean has to approve it even if it's through extension. So basically he said I cant retake any classes.
It doesn't make too much sense if you ask me. Basically, you'd rather fail a class than try your hardest to do well, because if your in a bad position and end up with a C it kills your gpa rather than failing, retaking and being good with the GPA.

Dumb system.

Wow, that is crazy. At my school you can take a class as many times as you want...as long as you pay the money LOL.

Well, I'm in Vegas so I can't really help you with finding a school to retake the classes, but if you can find a similiar class at another school but not exactly the same, you should be able to have that count as a retake.
