somehow, probably by an act of god, i got an interview at harvard for the end of january. for anyone who has already gone, I was wondering where there is a good hotel nearby to stay at? I've heard of two, the "Boston Hotel Buckminster" and the "Hampton Inn Crosstown Center." Any idea which is better? Any idea of some others?

Also, i'm a southern boy, so i'm likely to get lost on any sort of subway-system-metro-city nonsense. Can anybody give me a simple plan of how the hell I can get from the airport to my hotel, to harvard? Thanks!

I stayed at Best Western - Longwood for $120/night. It's right by the med school, a 5 minute walk to Gordon Hall (building A) which really decreases the stress involved. I got a ride from a friend from the airport, so I don't have any directions to give...I think there are shuttles and you can always hop in a cab.

Good luck!!!

When you get out of logan there are shuttles waiting to take you to the subway (blueline). Change at Gov't Center to the D Greenline to get to Longwood (Harvard med school) or whatever T stop your hotel is near.

Cabs are kind of pricey ($20-30). A T token is $1.25 🙂

ONLY 69.99/night w/o taxes!
I took a cab to the medical school and it was only $6.00
They have free breakfasts! and are located within walking distance to the T-Subway!

Good Luck!

I live close to Boston, so I stayed at home, but if you can stay with a student, DEFINETLY do it. If I'm remembereing correctly, one of the interviewees had stayed with one of our tour guides, so I'm almost sure you can do it. Anyways, one of the things I really came away from the school with was how friendly, warm, happy, cool, and generally AMAZING the students were. And, compared to what I've seen, the dorm is pretty nice. Just my $0.02...

Good luck!
