Hey all. I just got offered an interview at St L U but its in Philadelphia. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a place to stay near the interview site (the Riverloft apartments)? I will be there on Nov 6. Anyone else out there going on that day? Write me at [email protected] if you are.

Riverloft is convenient to most hotels in Center City or University City. It's really close to the University of Pennsylvania, but hotels in that area are rather expensive. You may want to try to priceline something for Center City. You could probably get Riverloft from most hotels in the area by cab in like 30 min (at the most).

Sorry to intrude on this post, but are taxis rampant in Philadelphia? I'm going there soon to interview and I was just wondering how easy it is to catch a taxi on the streets.

Since that's right off the green line (three blocks), you could easily stay anywhere near the subway. I mention the Holiday Inn Express to alot of people, as that's in a nice part of town and is fairly inexpensive. Really as long as you find something near Market St. (out to maybe 40th st) or near Broad St (preferably between Vine and South) you'll be fine. As has been mentioned, you could priceline it in downtown Philly or University City, and I'm sure you could at least get a cab from anywhere in those locations.

As for taxis, as long as you're in center city there's cabs all over the place. They get fewer and fewer the further out you go. So, I would really try to stay in a place that has mass transit nearby or is in Center/University city.
