Hello-

I have to take a class that will satisfy a prerequisite for one of the med schools I'm applying to. The course is offered at both the main campus and at a community college. I'm also applying to 11 other M.D. programs, and might find myself applying again next year. Would it be better for me to take the course at the main campus? Or, should I save some money and take the course at a community college? Do you think mainland adcoms would hold it against me next year if I took the course at a JC? (the class is called "Cell and Molecular Biology" - an intermesh of the two disciplines.)

Thanks!

dont worry tiger...

one class at a jc is nothing. just get a good grade. many people here take some of their prereqs at jcs so its all good.

good job on breaking b. nelson's cut streak. 😉

If it were me, I would take it at the main campus. It will save a lot of hassle from having to get transcripts sent from two different places. And sometimes med schools require even more additional info from the college, like recommendations.

Some med schools will even ask why you took a class at other college. Although, I see absolutely no reason why it would negatively effect you. Save some money if you can 🙂
