As far as I am aware of, USnews is the only public source of veterinary medical program rankings.
The rankings are based on the results of peer assessment surveys sent to deans, other administrators, and/or faculty at accredited veterinary programs. Respondents rated the academic quality of programs based on their assessment of the curriculum, faculty, and graduates. Scores for each school were determined by computing a trimmed mean (eliminating the two highest and lowest responses) of the ratings of all respondents who rated that school; scores were then sorted in descending order. Only fully accredited programs in good standing during the survey period are ranked.
Anytime I look at vet websites, if they mention their ranking, they mention their USnews ranking. The last USnews ranking occured after studies conducted in 2003 - however, this ranking is the one they include in their current 2006 report.
