Hi all

I have LORs from the following:

1) 1 Science - Major
2) 2 Science - Non-major
3) 1 Non-science
4) 1 PI
5) 1 Physician

I noticed from the new MSAR that some schools (such as UCLA and USC) allow a maximum of 3 LORs.
Which of these should I chose?

Find out what their requirements are. They may only allow 3, but they may have different requirements.

Just listing what category they fall under does not help us determine that. You need to talk more about the extent of your relationship to these people in terms of both quality and quantity in order for us to be of any help.

Choose the ones that wrote the best about you. These are usually the ones that know you best/the longest.

I doubt you'll ever need 3 science LORs so you can honestly discard the weakest one. A lot of schools request a non-science so that one will obviously be important. The physician letter should only be used when a school explicitly asks for one. The PI one can be used as you wish (maybe if you've already graduated and they ask for a letter from your supervisor).

Thank you! This is what I wanted to know
