Liberal Arts is a very broad category or really a curriculum. Almost all of the classes you take at a University usually fit within the criteria of "liberal arts."

From Wikipedia:

the seven liberal arts were:

the Trivium:

grammar
rhetoric
logic

the Quadrivium:

arithmetic
geometry
music
astronomy
