Which combo for surgery as first rotation?

I am trying to figure out what the best combo of study materials for surgery would be since I have it first and want to cover important medicine topics as well. I took step 1 a few weeks ago so some of it is still fresh ut I'm sure there is more third year related medicine material to be learned.

Would it be better to do nms surgery + nms casebook + uworld
Or would it be better to do step up to medicine (gi, electrolytes, fluids)+ nms casebook + uworld?


I am interested in surgery so I want to do very well so any advice would be awesome

Please do a search. This EXACT question has been answered >5 times in the past 2 weeks. Infact, there's another thread that I just replied to that discussed this exact topic.

I think, personally, that your second plan (SUTM + NMS + UWorld) is a good one, and one that I tried to do for my surgical rotation (with pestana audio + notes).

I saw a bunch of people asked something similar but I couldnt find a good answer for those who took surgery first..
