Radiology, by far...

I have to agree radiology, interventional radiology more specifically, its at the forefront of technology.

Definitely not surgery, at least not general surgery.

Some urological surgery is very technically oriented! (I think I saw a TV show where robots were used in order to minimize the size of the incision and allow for maximum precision)

I dunno, I think I'll have to go with urology. Those robot-assisted prostatectomies are really neat-o.

Da vinci ? I thought it was mainly for cardiac surgery. Radiology does seem like the most ''futuristic'' field out there. Too bad it's way too competitive for average folks...

No, they're doing tons of robot-assisted prostates. It's really cool. Dude sits in the corner of the room not even scrubbed and can do the whole case practically himself.

I have posted this before but this thread is just as good a place as any to mention it again.

it's long but really is worth watching even if Urology isn't exactly your thing.

Wow... I just watched this... amazing!

Urology: no (or little) call/emergencies, relatively regular lifestyle, procedural, potential for lots of clinic when you're old and aren't nimble enough to perform the procedures... hmmmm.

Eh- I'd say all specialities that are invasively-oriented are equally technologically advanced in their own ways.

Radiation oncology is definitely the most technologically oriented specialty I've seen personally. High tech from start to finish. Interventional radiology is a close second.

Yeah, I just read a lit review from a classmate on Da Vinci. According to the review, Da Vinci is more commonly used for prostate surgery as of now.

I would guess Cardo will get bigger in the future.
