Which DO schools are big on community service?

TCOM requires their students to obtain 12 hours of community service per year, for at least the first two years.

I think that we (NSUCOM) do an amazing amount of community service. So much that one of my goals this year is to organize a structure on how to log it. I think all schools do a lot of community service. Some have it in the curriculum and others do not. We have a thing call COM-2-Serv where we can go (our choice) to a hospice/std clinic/health fair/underserved community/ect...

I also think bigger schools can provide more oppurtunity for these experiences. We are basically in Miami so there is a ton of opportunity here.

Robz, I encourage you to talk with your SGA president (unless you are him, and in which case you can ignore this message) regarding logging community service activities at your school. COSGP (the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents) has initiated the TOUCH program nationwide. TOUCH (Translating Osteopathic Understanding into Community Health) is a program designed to promote osteopathic student community service and fully understand its impact on the community.
