I have so many options, I don't want to over-commit

I have 21 hours of class and one leadership position (~5 hrs) already for next year

I can choose between:

research- around 15 hours per week (I only have 1 summer's worth of experience and I am considering md/phd)

volunteer- 5 hours per week (I have done very few hours of this already)

clinical research (paid)- 15 hours per week (60 hours of shadowing is my only clinical experience)

or lab TA - ~7 hours per week (pays VERY WELL)

Which of these do you recommend? I will be a junior, hoping to apply next year, and I really didn't get started with ECs until recently, so any of these choices would be helpful, and I am equally excited about all of them. Unfortunately, I need to pick (1 or 2 at most)! Suggestions?

If your considering md/phd, you'll need the research. and if you don't go md/phd research is always a good thing. I would couple this with volunteering 5 hours/week. If you have little clinical experience, perhaps volunteering in a hospital would be best. Good luck!

If you already have a publication, become a lab TA. If not, then do clinical research to get some clinic time and some $$$.

I would go with the research. But that's just me.

I would go with research and volunteering..just my 0.02

clinical research + volunteer

clinical research clinical research clinical research....I would die for an opportunity like that...
