Which has more value, longterm pt shadowing at approximately 3 hrs a week or short term for a week a 40 hrs? Didn't know if it mattered since the time acquired would be the same. Of course in regards to developmental pt this may yield a different experience, but in general I wasn't sure if an acute setting would matter too much.

im not on admissions committees but all of my interviews I went on never really asked me to elaborate on how I got my hours.

thank you for the reply. By the way, do you think you could describe your typical interview?

Long term- short term, doesn't matter. What matters is the amount of hours you have accumulated at application time. Some programs have minimums, some don't and some require 3-5 different settings, while some don't even consider observation exp. for admission. You really have to check the program you are interested in.

I had four interviews and all were different. Two were chill. Like conversational and really relaxed. One was serious Q and A. One was a hybrid between serious Q and A and relaxed.

My best advice is to know why PT, why you can make a good PT, and what you can contribute positively to the field.
