Besides the LORs from science prof, I was wondering if it is better to get a letter from PI than from a non-sci prof.

I feel like my non-sci prof knows me better, as I took her class for a year and we still exchange e-mails. She is a foriegn language professor so I don't think she has phD or from a "known" college in U.S..

My PI knows me better than other profs that I am getting LORs from, but I am not as close with him as I am with the non-sci prof I talked about. However, he has phD, well-known in his field, from Harvard..etc...

Is it better to get a letter from PI than from a non-sci prof? Since it's going to be a confidential letter, they would be no way of knowing who would write me a better letter and I don't want to ask them letters if I am not going to use them.I feel like my non-sci prof will write me more personal, stronger letter, but would a letter from PI be more "powerful"? . What do you guys think?
