Hi,
Would becoming a CNA, EMT or MA be better than simply becoming a volunteer? Does it matter to medical school admissions committees?

The reason I ask is because it would take longer to become a CNA/MA/EMT as suppose to applying for a volunteer program at a hospital or nursing facility.

I don't think so. If you have the option of a better paying job I'd go with that and just do some clinical volunteering on the side.

The quality of the experience and it’s impact on you will far outweigh it’s paid/unpaid status.

If anyone hounds you about it being paid, just explain to them you needed the money as well as the experience. If anyone faults you for that then they (most likely) have yet to face any real struggle in supporting themselves in life.
