Which Laptop To Get?

Hi,

I will be attending NYUCD from august & iam still in a dilemma as to which laptop to get. Since NYU uses the vital book I am looking to get a lightweight laptop with a DVD Rom. Please, can anyone suggest some good lightweight laptops. Inputs from my future classmates are also welcome.

The IBM T41 is a rock solid laptop that the NYUCD bookstore sells. Although a bit more on the expensive side, the bookstore does offer a deferred payment plan. This model is among the best built and lightest laptops on the market today. If it's out of your range, go with a Dell Inspiron. They are cheaper but also pretty solid and reliable.
