I have to choose between a letter from the Family Medicine program director at my school and a letter from the attending that I did my Family Medicine rotation with. I have never worked with the PD in a clinical situation but have worked with him in other non-academic activities and have known him since 1st year. Let's say both letters are strong. Which one should I submit to programs? BTW, I'm applying to IM programs.

Any input greatly appreciated.

If they are in the same department, ask the PD to include the feedback from the attending your worked with directly. It shouldn't be much trouble, and you get the best of both worlds in a single letter.
