Good Q - I personally wouldn't mind being in CA, love Cali - too bad I have been stuck in Wash DC Area since I was 5 👎
COLD WEATHER = NO

Stanford
UCSF
Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD

But I would be happy getting into any Medical School when it's time for me to apply - I just hope I can keep my GPA up throughout the upper level courses. Keep hearing they are hard 😱

Oh almost forgot - if Cali doesn't work out for you choose Vanderbilt. Great School.

Berkeley has a medschool?

My top choice is Yale or Dartmouth, followed in a close third by Michigan.

You know, isn't it too bad that the Caribbean schools have such a bad rep? Seems to me, that's where we should be scrapping to go, not to some cold and bleak snowstruck area. Why don't the Ivy Leagues have schools in Cozumel? Mmm, scuba diving...

Vanderbilt is always a good choice. You'd be happy at Vandy.

UMich, but only because my guy is there 😍

UCLA vs. Cornell - Tough choice. It would all come down to the money...

I WISH Berkeley had a med school...it would be one more state school to apply to. I think UCSF is often considered Berkeley's med school though. I know they're affiliated somehow and I think they have joint programs.

Baylor. Greatest Education/Cost ratio.

I think Berkeley has an MBS program or something like that.

Actually - That was my bad. They don't have a med school, but I am applying to them for the remainder of my undergrad so I accidently put it in their. I think their school is somehow affiliated with UCSF for med school though.

forsaking the presitge of baylor or cornell, i'd choose either UMich or Vandy. i like their respective locations (not in NYC/LA, but not in the middle of nowhere, either), but all of the choices are great.

Y*A*L*E.

Boola. Boola.

1.)Baylor
2.)Vanderbilt
3.)Emory
4.)UCSD
5.)Cornell
6.)U. Pitt
7.)U. Mich.

Based on cost, reputation, strength of graduate departments, amount of sunshine each year, and location(read: the South).
😀

decades ago, ucsf was considered "part of uc berkeley". for whatever reason, ucsf has become more indepedent last couple years. when i was a freshmen (1998) i was told by an admission advisor from ucsf that 40% of the ucsf class is reserved from uc berkeley students. i do not know if that is still true right now.

we (UCB) still have affiliations with ucsf. for example, there is a UCB-UCSF Joint Medical Program. UCSF med students can also obtain a MPH degree by taking class here at uc berkeley school of public health.

oh wait...forgot to answer OP's question.

UCLA hands down.....hot chicks, great weather...and oh yea....great school.

Not that I have the grades for any of these schools.

But after four years in L.A. I can't wait to get out (even though UCLA appears to be winning the poll right now). Go to the South. Vandy is a great school.

Plus to comment on the above quote, "hot chicks"...trust me, while Cali has some hot girls, nowhere tops the South.

my friend that is a first year at UCSF said that out of the 140 ppl in the class, 29 or 30 are from Berkeley (go bears!).

as for the poll, UCLA.
